Whatnot Wednesdays #10

Info dumps on the life of an aspiring writer.

Wow, it has been a long day.  A long week, really.  So much is happening at once! You'd think that'd make it go faster, but now I'm just hyper-aware of everything so time doesn't seem to move fast enough.

I've made good progress in rewriting the final draft of Guinea Pig Maverick. I'm so excited with how it's coming together!  Hopefully it will be 100% done by the end of this year, and that means publishing!  Keeping my fingers crossed on that.

I'm very close to finishing my first draft of Somnia.  Just a chapter or two left to write out.  Well--as long as my characters don't throw me a curve ball.  These guys have already done it many times while I've been writing this book.

Hope you all had a great day!

God bless,
~Amy Rochelle

  1. Ooh, good for you! I can't wait, it sounds like fun! Boy oh boy, do I know what you mean by characters throwing you curve balls. Two days ago a set of my characters decided they didn't like the time period they were placed in. I'm writing a fantasy story that was SUPPOSED to be set in Medieval sort of time set, but nooooooo, they want to be in a more ancient Rome sort of time set. So that pretty muchly wrecked all the story I had written so far and been planning for nearly 6 years!!! ARGH! Ah well, the Roman time set is rather fascinating really, and the characters are better complimented by it than by the Medieval one. (Also, I really like how some of the story stuff just worked SO PERFECTLY in the Roman time set and the story meshes pretty well, even if it is a little difficult to figure out some of the particular details. I also love Roman architecture, so I guess I'm good, but that really came right out of the blue it did!)
